Architectural light switch manufacturer basalte has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Award for Enzo, its hi-tech switch with a retro look.
The rounded design and the use of high quality materials such as polished aluminium, glass and leather, creates “a timeless look and an exclusive character”, says the company.
Despite its retro feel, Enzo uses the most up-to-date technology. Enzo contains highly sensitive touch sensors and a temperature sensor. The integrated, multicolor LED lighting makes Enzo visible in the dark, but can also be used for status feedback.
Enzo was designed for home automation systems such as KNX.
With more than 12,000 submissions from more than 60 countries, the international Red Dot design award is the largest and most renowned design competition in the world. The award-winning products are put before an international public in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany.
