The Martin Audio FlexPoint loudspeaker system has been installed at the Noorderkerkzaal performing arts theatre in Sneek, Netherlands, a 200-capacity venue housed in a Reformed Church originally constructed in 1881.
The Noorderkerkzaal is housed within a Reformed Church originally constructed in 1881. After serving its congregation until 2001, the building underwent extensive renovation and reopened as a venue in 2010. Now part of the Sneek Cultural Quarter, the 200-capacity space hosts concerts, theatre productions and community events, all of which place different demands on speech intelligibility, musicality and coverage consistency.
The installed system centres on three FlexPoint FP12 12in models in a left/centre/right configuration, supported by three FP8 8in models serving as frontfills. Low-frequency energy is handled by a pair of SXC115 15in cardioid subwoofers, with the cardioid design intended to control bass buildup on stage. The system is powered by iKON IK41 and IK42 Dante-enabled amplifiers, providing networked audio routing throughout the venue.
The installation was recommended by Martijn de Jong of Ampco Flashlight Sales, Martin Audio’s Dutch distributor.
