The BD570 Blu-ray player featuring built-in Wi-Fi can connect to the internet or a home networking, bringing a variety of entertainment options to the living room. Wireless internet access allows the BD570 to take content usually viewed on a small computer screen and put it onto a large TV in the living room.

In addition, the BD570 unlocks extra movie-related content from the web with BD-Live. The player also provides convenient access to information such as local and global weather forecasts from Accuweather, and can connect to Picasa to view and share photos online.

To access media collections, the BD570 connects via Wi-Fi to computers on a home network, or DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) compatible storage devices. It can also be connected directly to external USB hard drives or thumb drives to play HD quality DivX and MKV movies.

The player can be linked up to most TVs with a single HDMI cable, ensuring that viewers always see the highest possible picture quality with both Blu-ray discs and regular DVDs, which it upscales to 1080p resolution.

Stephen Gater, head of marketing at LG Home Entertainment, told IE Residential: “The BD570 Blu-ray player provides customers with the ultimate in high-definition technology. It offers integrated Wi-Fi connectivity, bringing LG’s NetCast with content such as YouTube, straight to your living room, without the need for wires. With such technology we are confident that the BD570 will prove popular, as consumers look to get the best in high definition for their home entertainment. “
