LD Systems and Palmer power 2,600m Austrian studio

Deployed near Sölden, in the Alps, Adam Hall Group’s LD Systems MAILA line arrays and Palmer ORBIT studio monitors provide sound reinforcement and reference monitoring for Europe’s highest recording facility

LD Systems modular line arrays and Palmer reference monitors from Adam Hall Group have been deployed at the Infinity Studio, a modular recording facility constructed at an elevation of 2,600m above Sölden, Austria.

The installation combines sound reinforcement and critical monitoring across a two-storey alpine structure engineered to withstand sub-zero temperatures and high-altitude atmospheric conditions. Outdoors on the facility’s panoramic terrace, a passive configuration of the LD Systems MAILA (Modular All-Round Intelligent Line-Array) delivers sound reinforcement for open-air listening sessions and live showcases.

Inside the primary tracking and control room, acoustic monitoring is handled by Palmer ORBIT series active studio monitors. The hardware setup is supported by Gravity microphone and instrument positioning stands alongside bespoke speaker mounting brackets, with all audio signal distribution routed via Adam Hall Cables.

Florian Ritter, head of global brand marketing at LD Systems, said: “At 2,600m, there are no second chances. Anyone recording up there needs a signal chain that is spot on from the very first take: in sub-zero temperatures, with fluctuating humidity and for artists who hear every detail. That is why we are proud that almost the entire Adam Hall Group brand portfolio comes together in the Infinity Studio.”

Florian Fellier and Felix Brunhuber, CEOs of Wilderness Studios, added: “For more than ten years, we have been working with international artists and creatives, and we have learnt one thing: the right environment can shape a creative process just as strongly as the people involved in it.”
