L-Acoustics line arrays installed at Latvian cultural centre

Six A15i Focus and two A15i Wide line array speakers, six KS21i subwoofers and four X8i delay fills deployed at Ogres Kultūras Centrs, a 14,000sqm multipurpose venue near Riga

L-Acoustics A Series loudspeakers have been installed at Ogres Kultūras Centrs in Ogre, Latvia, a multipurpose cultural venue hosting more than 200 events a year approximately 40km east of Riga.

The system comprises six A15i Focus and two A15i Wide line array speakers paired with six KS21i subwoofers as the main system, with four X8i coaxial units installed in the ceiling as delay fills for rear seating areas and four 4Xi coaxial systems providing front-fill coverage for the first three rows. System design, modelling and calibration were led by L-Acoustics certified provider VGD Project, with deployment handled by Baltic audio distributor Rock Distribution.

The calibration process began with baseline measurements across the hall, cross-referenced against a pre-prepared Soundvision model. Fine-tuning was carried out through filter work in Soundvision, followed by detailed acoustic measurements to refine frequency response and time alignment before final critical listening sessions using reference tracks.

Ronalds Luknis, application engineer at VGD Project, said: “The system is powerful and provides great coverage anywhere in the hall. It can be detailed at low volumes, but it can also be turned up loud without listener fatigue, which is ultimately what any venue should be able to offer.”

Sergey Zhitnikov, L-Acoustics engineer, added: “Once phase alignment and low-frequency control were addressed, the system started working as a single instrument. Calibration is not an optional step – it defines the final quality of the system.”
