Goodwood even more glorious with JBL

Dibble told II: “The reasons that particular model was chosen are that it is outdoor-friendly – it met the specifications and requirements for Goodwood – and it looks nice. In addition to being a smart, easy-to-clean cabinet, it is also very easily demountable – an important consideration given that Goodwood only races for seven or eight months of the year.”

The 100V line loudspeakers conform to Mil Spec 810 for humidity, salt spray, temperature and UV, and sport an IEC 529 IP-X4 splashproof rating. They are easily demountable via a single Allen bolt.

Best-known for providing technical support to horse racing facilities, RaceTech is now exploring other areas of the installation market in a more concerted way.

“There is a lot of expertise in the company, and we are trying to vary the ‘menu’ a bit,” explained Dibble. “We have just completed two conferencing facilities for a company called Bonar Floors, and have been consulting for a couple of university lecture theatres.”

Back in its core territory of racing applications, RaceTech is currently installing an extensive AV system at the new grandstand at Epsom Downs Racecourse in a project due for completion in February.
