JBL Professional loudspeakers and Crown amplifiers have been deployed across three prominent mosques in Cairo as part of Egypt’s efforts to enhance spiritual infrastructure with advanced audio technology. Integrator Audio Technology designed and installed bespoke systems for Al-Sayyida Nafisa, Osama Ben Zaid, and Al-Ali Al-Azeem mosques, focusing on precise sound coverage and speech intelligibility throughout varied and challenging acoustic environments.
At the expansive Al-Ali Al-Azeem Mosque in Almaza, Audio Technology installed JBL CBT 1000 column loudspeakers, utilising Constant Beamwidth Technology to provide targeted vertical coverage and wide horizontal dispersion in the main prayer halls. Outdoor courtyards feature JBL AWC all-weather speakers designed to deliver clear audio despite environmental conditions. The system aims to ensure even sound distribution across the mosque’s 8,100sqm and multiple floors.
Al-Sayyida Nafisa Mosque in Old Cairo, a historically significant site, received a system upgrade using JBL CBT 70J-1 column arrays in the main halls and CBT 50LA-1 monitors for imam speech reinforcement. Outdoor areas were fitted with JBL AWC159 and AWC62 all-weather speakers designed to maintain clarity and durability. The entire setup is powered by Crown amplifiers, designed to support consistent coverage for both routine prayers and special events without impacting the mosque’s aesthetic.
In New Cairo’s Osama Ben Zaid Mosque, Audio Technology implemented a multi-zone audio solution featuring JBL CBT 70J and CBT 100LA-1 speakers for the main sanctuary, complemented by CBT 50LA-1 speakers in the women’s prayer hall to provide discrete and dedicated coverage. JBL AWC159 all-weather speakers cover outdoor spaces, offering an alternative to traditional horn systems with what the company calls “a warmer, more natural sound”. Crown XLi and CDi Series amplifiers power the system, focusing on operational reliability and ease of use.
