Denon introduces new entry-level AV receivers

The UK-tuned AVR-1911 and AVR-1611 UK-tuned devices constitute the first products in Denon's new range of advanced audio/video receivers. Both the seven-channel AVR-1911 and five-channel AVR-1611 feature full 3D video connectivity and 3D surround-sound options, while other features include HDMI conversion, clear-cut on-screen displays and straightforward user operation.

The UK-tuned AVR-1911 and AVR-1611 UK-tuned devices constitute the first products in Denon’s new range of advanced audio/video receivers. Both the seven-channel AVR-1911 and five-channel AVR-1611 feature full 3D video connectivity and 3D surround-sound options, while other features include HDMI conversion, clear-cut on-screen displays and straightforward user operation.

One of the most significant enhancements applied to all Denon’s latest receivers is the inclusion of HDMI v1.4a repeater inputs with 3D (all mandated formats), Audio Return Channel (ARC) and CEC (Consumer Electronics Control). The AVR-1911 and AVR-1611 support Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and other HD Audio formats, as well as Dolby Pro Logic IIz for enhanced vertical and horizontal spatial performance at the front.

Both devices also feature analogue-to-HDMI conversion and support simple-one-cable HDMI connections, including the new Audio Return Channel (ARC) option. An updated On-Screen Display (OSD) is said to significantly simplify system set-up and operation stages, while OSD via the HDMI connection eliminates the necessity of additional cable switching or programming interruptions when making adjustments during the viewing of HD content.

Further enhancing ease of use, all models incorporate Source/Quick Select Power On and Quick Select options on the front panel and remote control to give one button source, surround mode selection.

Additional features to be found on the AVR-1911 include high-bit 1080p upconversion through an advanced Anchor Bay Technologies chipset, along with a front panel USB port that offers iPod/iPhone Digital Direct playback function. Digital signals from the iPod are transmitted to the AVR-1911, where they pass through the compressed audio restorer and are processed by advanced audio circuitry to produce a “clean, high quality” sound.

Both models will be available in black colour finish from next month.
