The new dispatching and tele-command centre of Antwerp’s police department which opened recently features six Barco video walls, including a 4.65 x 1.74 m LED-lit projection wall, and eight LED backlit LCD displays. Thanks to the networked set-up, all the data can be retrieved via the network and projected onto any display or any operator station that’s available. In this way, the new solution fosters collaboration, accurate analysis and fast decision-making.
The large Barco LED-lit video wall is made up of six 70″ OL-710 projection modules and is used by the dispatchers. The special operation room and camera control room have all been equipped with smaller walls comprising Barco’s NSL-5521 tiles. In the cartography room, operators monitor the vehicles currently out on the road on a large LDX-46 display with LED backlights.
Thanks to Barco’s CMS-200 control room management suite, users can easily connect to a multitude of sources, regardless of where the information has to be presented – on the smaller LCD displays, the video walls or operator workstations. Since all sources are available over the network, no dedicated hardware is necessary to visualise the information. The direct access to all the information and the collaborative viewing enables accurate analysis and fast decision-making.
Behind the scenes, the technical backbone of the installation was put in place by Belgian integrator Fabricom.
