DiSCO – the Digital Signage Conference is now in its fourth year. Since its inception as ISE’s first pre-show Conference in 2009, the event has grown steadily in stature to become one of the most influential events in the global digital-signage calendar. For 2012, DiSCO will host presentations alternating between the story as told by the user – focusing on the concept, issues and solutions – and the view of the supplier or manufacturer who will provide the technology background to their solution. This unique mix will give DiSCO delegates both sides of the project story, setting the scene for a stimulating day of case studies, market information, business intelligence and thought leadership in the digital signage of Out Of Home (OOH) sectors. A joint venture between ISE, its signage industry partner Invidis Consulting and the trade association OVAB Europe, DiSCO will take place on Monday, 30 January at the Amsterdam RAI. “The timing is perfect,” says Oliver Schwede, senior analyst at Invidis Consulting. “Running the Conference the day before ISE starts will give attendees all the important information they need so that they can ask the right questions on the show floor. The Conference educates attendees and provides direction to find the right solution within the huge amount of exhibitors. It simply makes the visit to ISE more effective.” “Digital signage and Digital Out Of Home are two dynamic and rapidly evolving markets,” continues Schwede. “Despite the fact that these markets have existed since the mid-1990s, there are still many unanswered questions, especially regarding sustainable business cases and effective concepts. The Conference will pick up on these issues and will focus on best practice, strategic background information and market figures. “The technology is there and it is working. What’s important now are the concepts and the business case which provide the return on investment. Hearing about successful projects will enable delegates to transfer the knowledge they’ve gained to their own situations.”

“Best of all,” Schwede concludes, “this is a real Conference. It’s not a presentation area on the show floor in a loud environment where you can’t hear yourself think – something you can easily experience at the majority of digital signage events. DiSCO is a high-quality event with high quality speakers that features opinion leaders from all across the market. For anyone who’s serious about digital signage, it’s an event not to be missed.”
