SpeakerCraft moves to Aldous Systems

Aldous Systems, Aylesbury-based distributor to the custom installation industry, has been appointed UK distributor for SpeakerCraft.

Aldous Systems, Aylesbury-based distributor to the custom installation industry, has been appointed UK distributor for SpeakerCraft. Established in 2002, Aldous Systems supplies voice, data, video, audio, automation and control products to customers in the UK and mainland Europe.

Other major CI brands on its roster include Gefen, HAI, BitWise Controls, TileVision, and Theatron.

“It is a privilege to be able to represent a brand with such an amazing heritage as SpeakerCraft,” commented Jason Aldous (pictured), owner and managing director of Aldous Systems. “As the original inventor of the in-wall speaker and indeed the whole concept of architectural speakers, SpeakerCraft are still in a league of their own and we are absolutely thrilled to be part of the SpeakerCraft family.”

Paul Slater has also been appointed SpeakerCraft brand manager at Aldous Systems. Slater brings a wealth of knowledge of SpeakerCraft, gained from his time at other distributors. He will have a national role, responsible for driving the brand forward in the UK market. “Paul is a massive asset to us,” said Aldous. “What he doesn’t know about speakers isn’t worth knowing.”

Unlike Aldous Systems’ other speaker brand, Destination Audio, SpeakerCraft products will only be made available to authorised dealers. “We want to maintain SpeakerCraft’s status as a premium brand, and not dilute it with hundreds of dealers,” explained Aldous.

Linda Van Zanten, SpeakerCraft’s vice-president of international sales, said: “We are pleased to be working with Aldous Systems. They have a very strong technical background with a key focus on customer service, meaning they fit well with the SpeakerCraft culture and they are well positioned to handle some of the new exciting products we will be bringing to market in the future.”

Aldous told IE Residential that SpeakerCraft would be demonstrating technology for multi-room audio and video distribution over Cat5 at CEDIA Expo; he hopes to bring these to the UK in the first quarter of 2012.
