PSCo adds large screens from Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp

The company sees technology and business opportunity coming together to bring significant sales potential.

PSCo Technical Distribution has expanded its large format display portfolio to include new LCD models alongside its existing plasma range. According to the company, the announcement follows significant research and development efforts to upgrade its added-value offering for channel partners.

New LCD models from Samsung, Panasonic and Sharp are amongst the first products to satisfy demand for displays from 70-inch upwards for a wide range of signage applications within the retail, OOH, corporate, transport, stadia, broadcast, leisure, and hospitality market places.

PSCo said that supplying and stocking the first ever ultra-large-format display has provided it with a wealth of experience in the provision and support of this technology. The recent R&D highlighted a range of current and future priorities to help channel partners specify, set up and maintain successful installations for the new products. These include the structure and rigidity of brackets and mounts, bracket design, spare parts and back up units, packaging and delivery to site, as well as calibration and warranty options.

“Large format is expanding at PSCo,” said Paul O’Reilly, Managing Director. “Our large-format display portfolio is widening not only in terms of the technology available, but also in terms of the new opportunities this technology brings. Panasonic, Sharp and Samsung are all introducing large format LCDs to the market creating even more sales potential. Our knowledge, combined with our innovative displays, supported by the relative Technical Assistance and Assurance services, enables us to offer our channel partners the best means to harness these opportunities.”

Amongst the new products in PSCo’s large format display portfolio, Panasonic has introduced 70 and 80-inch LCD LED backlit models complementing existing 103-inch, 103-inch 3D, 85-inch and 85-inch 3D plasmas. The LCD models are said to be exceptionally lightweight, extremely thin in depth and have been designed with ceiling suspension capability (portrait and landscape). The TH-70LF50 and TH-80LF50 are claimed to be highly durable for 24/7 reliable operation and are energy efficient, owing to LED backlighting which greatly reduces the overall power consumption.

PSCo is also distributing what it says is the world’s first edge-lit LED large-format display – the 75-inch ME75B from Samsung’s range of professional displays. It provides extra flexibility with options for touch and protection glass overlays.

New from Sharp, PSCo is introducing the latest 70- and 80-inch PN-E702 and PN-E802LCD models.
These new ultra-large format displays are backed by specific services designed to nourish and extend the skill set, knowledge and capability reach of PSCo’s channel partners, said PSCo. Technical Assistance services for large format displays range from pre-sales advice, PSCo Assessment Centre tours and demonstrations, site surveys, through pre-delivery inspection to display set up, configuration, calibration and handover. Technical Assurance services for large format screens include support enhancement, on-going health checks and extended warranties, as well as repairs, recycling and replacement.
