Samsung and ScoreVision create immersive platform for Nebraska schools

Six schools in Millard Public School district are using Samsung digital displays and ScoreVisionLE (SVLE) software during sporting events

Samsung Electronics America has partnered with ScoreVision, a developer of software solutions for fan engagement, to elevate the game-day experience at six middle schools across the Millard Public School district in Omaha, Nebraska. The schools use a combination of Samsung digital displays and ScoreVisionLE (SVLE) software to create an immersive, dynamic platform during sporting events for students, faculty, staff and spectators at the middle school level.

ScoreVision suggested using the Samsung displays and Millard Public Schools agreed. Samsung installed a total of 12 boards, including two in each of the six middle schools’ gymnasiums. Samsung says the goal is to “elevate team spirit, create fundraising opportunities and facilitate school-wide communication”.

Sukhmani Mohta, chief marketing officer, Samsung Electronics America, said: As technology has become integrated into the students’ education and extracurricular activities, the digital displays are now a symbol of the district’s continued commitment to creating a cutting-edge environment and connecting school communities among students, staff and parents.”

The screens can be used beyond the sports arena, to communicate information throughout the school day, showcase images and videos, and highlight student achievements. Samsung says they can also serve as the centrepiece for other school events, such as concerts and honours ceremonies.

“With this partnership, Samsung Displays and ScoreVision give our middle school students a dynamic educational environment that would normally only be found at the high school or college level,” said Chad Zimmerman, district activity director, Millard Public Schools. “In addition to elevating engagement during sports events, the display technology adds to our sense of school community. Every Millard Public Schools student has an opportunity to appear on the big screens. You can tell they feel valued and recognised when their achievements are displayed for all their peers to see.”

Michael Medrano, president, ScoreVision, added: “We are excited to collaborate with Samsung on a new and modern way to bring scoring into these athletic venues. Samsung is a market leader in displays, and when paired with ScoreVision’s software offering, it delivers a truly unique experience. Having this solution deployed at Millard Public Schools district-wide is a testament to the forward-thinking leadership at the district and each school. We look forward to serving and supporting their community for many years.”
