PLASA 2012: ETC highlights new Source Four and more

Theatre and professional lighting manufacturer ETC is showcasing a range of its products at this year's PLASA show, including the Source Four Dimmer range and the Sensor3 Power Control system.

ETC is presenting an array of its products at this year’s PLASA show, including the new Source Four Dimmer. The Source Four Dimmer regulates output to support 115V HPL so it can supercharge a 230V Source Four luminaire. This allows a Source Four ellipsoidal profile – on 230V line voltage using an 115V lamp – to outperform a typical 1200W condenser profile, says the company. The lighting developer is also running its Layer of Light theatre (pictured) at its stand, which will provide short presentations on the hour every hour to visibly demonstrate the power of ETC’s Selador x7 LED colour system, as well as offering a close-up look at the different Selador Desire LED luminaires and the new Source Four LED Spotlight. Also on the ETC stand are ETC Source Four LED demo stations, where visitors can experience the power and versatility of white and colour mixing LED fixtures for themselves. By projecting a gobo onto a screen, viewers areable to compare LEDs with incandescent light sources. In addition, ETC control desks from the Congo and Eos lines with the company’s latest software updates installed are available for demonstrations. Congo software v6.3, due for release later in September, brings a collection of user interface expansions to Congo, including a new context menu system, similar to right-click menus found in other software. Completing the company’s offering its ETC’s Sensor3 Power Control System for the dimming and architectural controls area of the stand. The Sensor family offers the industry’s widest variety of dimming and switching solutions for every lighting application, including a new ThruPower module which can operate as a phase-control dimmer, relay or constant circuit. www.etcconnect.com
