LDI 2012: Robe, Robert Juliat and more prepare for Vegas

Now in its 25th year, Live Design International, which begins tomorrow at the Las Vegas Convention Center, will feature demos, new products and more.

Over 8,000 attendees working in theatre, concerts, houses of worship, corporate presentations, clubs, theme parks, and other live venues are set to come to LDI from 72 countries to see the latest gear in action and refresh their knowledge. More than 300 exhibiting companies will provide attendees with live demos and the opportunity for face-to-face discussions about equipment including lighting, sound and projection.

Following a busy PLASA show Avolites latest products can be found on the booth of Creative Stage Lighting. Products include the TITAN One Virtual Console; Version 6 of the TITAN Operating System; TITAN Net and flagship lighting console the Sapphire Touch.

LDI 2012 marks the official US launch of TIBO and ZEP, Robert Juliat’s latest LED profiles. TIBO LED is a high intensity 75W LED profile with a choice of two zoom ranges in one single unit (30°/45 and 15°/ 35°). Plastic, glass or metal M-size gobos can be projected and benefit from the easy alignment afforded by the 360° rotating lens tube. ZEP is the big brother of TIBO with a powerful 150W LED light source. Two color temperatures are available: Warm White 3200K and Cool White 6000K. Also in the booth will be a selection of Robert Juliat’s followspots including the 2500W Cyrano, the 1800W VICTOR and the 575W Buxie.

Robe is set to showcase its latest moving light and LED technologies with several major LED products being introduced to the American market. This includes the Robe ROBIN DLS Profile, the ROBIN DLX, the PLASA 2012 Innovation Award-winning ROBIN DLF, plus the new ROBIN MMX WashBeam.

As well as showing products o its stand, CAST will also hold a demo of its BlackTrax V1 technology.BlackTrax is an Ethernet-based solution that tracks objects or people in a defined 3D space and delivers the dynamic positional data in real time in up to 6 Degrees of Freedom – the usual x, y, z, plus roll, pitch & yaw – to audio, lighting, motion control, and media technologies.

Chauvet Professional will show ArKaos Kling-Net compatible fixtures at LDI 2012. In an impressive visual display comprising four large booths (2056, 2263, 2351, and 2357). Chauvet Professional will employ ArKaos Kling-Net protocol for its Chauvet Professional ÉPIX Strip fixture. Additionally, Chauvet Professional will debut a new fixture called Chauvet Professional Nexus 4×4, which is controllable via ArKaos Kling-Net protocol as well as Art-Net and DMX.

The recent appointment of Show Sage as a Merging Technologies’ Ovation reseller is being celebrated by showing the Media Server and Sequencer in Booth #442 at the show. Show Sage is also a joint Gold Master Class sponsor with Dataton and will be presenting a conference session.

As well as showing its latest range of LED lighting control solutions, Madrix will also offer hands-on presentations, Q&A sessions and more on the booth of its distributor Inner Circle Distribution. Two particular products will be presented to the North American audience for the first time: PLEXUS Remote and MADRIX 2.14a. PLEXUS Remote is a smart App to gain full control over MADRIX PLEXUS, a DMX512 interface and Art-Net node. MADRIX 2.14a is another free update for the unique software suite. The new version contains many improvements for MADRIX and MADRIX PLEXUS alike. The highlights are CITP v1.1 and the MADRIX Time Code Sender. www.ldishow.com
