ISE insights: Siegfried Hermann, Lightware

President of global sales discusses ISE 2026 in our exclusive interview

How many times have you attended ISE, and in what capacity?
I attended the first ISE in 2004 in Geneva, and since then I have been to all the ISE shows in different roles.

What are you most looking forward to seeing, or experiencing at ISE?
I am looking forward to meeting a lot of our valued partners and customers and seeing how the AV industry is growing and developing.

How has the AV industry evolved since the last ISE, and how will it be reflected at the show?
The integration of AV technology into the client’s IT environment is an ongoing process. More and more, big IT manufacturers present their solutions at ISE. Our new close partnership with Google, for example, is part of that journey for Lightware. Global standardisation of the user experience in a conference room and the management of global rollouts of AV technology is increasingly important.

What role does ISE play in your business planning and decision-making for the year ahead?
ISE is the primary event for communicating our new product releases.

Are there any particular product categories or solutions you’re prioritising this year, and why?
Versatile USB-C meeting room switches with integrated control software, Dante and built-in extension. We will also showcase our powerful integrations with many different UC technologies.

What will you be launching or showcasing at ISE 2026, and what problem does it solve for your customers?
Lightware’s goal for ISE 2026 is to showcase our full USB-C ecosystem – from basic USB-C solutions to complex boardroom setups, alongside the latest developments in the TPN platform and new AVI integrations. Altogether, the booth will feature ten demos, giving visitors a comprehensive look at how our solutions enable seamless connectivity, scalable AV-over-IP workflows and next-generation meeting experiences. Key highlights include the new TPN MMU (Matrix Management Unit) built specifically for integrators and the updated GVN platform, now offering USB-C connectivity, an independent media layer, Dante integration, and the flexibility to scale from retrofit rooms to larger systems.

We are also improving the Google Meet experience with new Taurus UCX integration and presenting the brand new USBC-BOOSTER-V1, a compact extender that delivers full-featured USB-C up to 12 metres, supporting 4K video, USB data, and 100W charging.

How do you plan to make your booth experience stand out on the busy show floor?
The booth is built around complete, working environments that mirror real meeting rooms and AVoIP setups. This makes it easy for visitors to see how the Lightware systems interact and what they can expect when deploying them.

What conversations are you hoping to have with visitors to your stand?
We’re interested in talking with visitors about the challenges they encounter in their AV projects, from planning to deployment and long-term support. These conversations help us understand their needs and show how our solutions can address them in a straightforward, effective way.

Beyond the technology, what other aspects of ISE are valuable to you – such as networking, education sessions, or understanding market trends?
Networking and open conversations with industry peers are especially valuable. It’s a good opportunity to compare real project experiences and understand broader market directions.

How do you typically translate what you see at ISE into practical recommendations or purchases for your projects?
We use the show to collect impressions, understand current expectations, and see what others in the industry are doing. These insights then help us think about how we can adapt our future technologies.

Are there any challenges you’re facing in your work that you’re hoping to find solutions for at ISE?
Keeping an eye on market direction is important to us. ISE helps us see how the industry is evolving and how those developments might influence our next steps.
