AVI-SPL triples UK capacity with Hampshire site

The AV and unified communications integrator’s new Farnborough facility has dedicated testing, rack build and pre-staging areas, designed to move more integration work off site

AVI-SPL, an AV and unified communications (UC) integrator that integrator that works with organisations worldwide, has opened a new facility in Farnborough, Hampshire. The company says it provides approximately three times the capacity of its previous UK premises, to support enterprise workplace technology projects.

The site has expanded warehouse, logistics and quality control areas, along with dedicated spaces for witness testing, rack build, pre-staging and commissioning. These are designed to let more integration and validation work be completed off site before deployment, which AVI-SPL says reduces on-site complexity and speeds up installation.

New collaboration and demonstration spaces allow customers to work with AVI-SPL teams and try workplace technologies before deployment. The facility is also intended to support work with consultants, general contractors and technology partners.

The opening was marked with an event attended by employees, partners and local dignitaries, including the mayor of Rushmoor, councillor Peter Cullum. AVI-SPL says the expansion comes as it supports a pipeline of UK projects including office relocations, workplace modernisation programmes, collaboration technology deployments and large-scale fit-outs.

Michael Kellaway, managing director, Europe at AVI-SPL, said: “As our UK business has grown, so has the scale and complexity of the projects we support. Expanding our logistics, warehousing, testing and quality control capabilities allows us to do more before solutions reach the customer site, helping improve efficiency, reduce risk and maintain the high standards our customers expect.”
