As IBC2026 returns to Amsterdam, the distinction between broadcast and pro AV is becoming increasingly difficult to define. Technologies, workflows and expertise once associated with distinct sectors are crossing traditional boundaries and reshaping how AV systems are designed and operated.

That shift is what drives this issue′s lead feature, exploring how broadcast thinking is influencing pro AV through IP, remote production and software-defined workflows. The IBC overview highlights the tech and trends set to shape conversations at the RAI.

Elsewhere, our wireless feature explores its evolution from microphones, monitors and comms into connected, centrally managed infrastructure carrying audio, control and data. In addition, we explore how houses of worship are putting that evolution into practice. Broadcast and streaming technologies are now central to serving both in-person and remote congregations, with those demands driving innovation.

Together, these stories reflect an AV industry increasingly willing to look beyond traditional boundaries for the technologies, workflows and ideas shaping what comes next. Enjoy the issue – and I hope to see you at the RAI.
