Gefen strengthens European presence with new distribution arrangement

The exhibitor list was led by Germany with 341, followed by China (74), Great Britain (59) and Italy (54). The majority of new participants came from Germany (+7.9%), while the proportion of foreign exhibitors rose by 3.5% - the bulk of them from other European countries.

The visitor total for the four-day show was 68,025, compared to 61,444 in 2007. The newcomers were primarily from outside Germany.

"ProLight+Sound is becoming increasingly popular, especially among companies that cater for several different segments of the market," exhibition director J_rgen Kupczik told II. "More and more, exhibitors are moving away from simply producing, selling or hiring of products to being full-service suppliers of solutions and services."

Highlights of a show notably rich in new products included SSL's 16-channel, 40-input mixing console, Matrix; DiGiCo's new concept console, SD7; Dynacord's new PowerSub 312 active 12in sub; Ohm's BootiQue, billed as a professional sound system in a box; Audio-Technica's AT2020 USB desktop production microphone; Digigram's PYKO range, comprising professional IP audio endpoints and an advanced software solution; Bosch's Wireless Discussion System; and, from Martin Professional, the MAC 2000 Wash XB.
