Installation is to continue its focus on the changing role of AV in higher education with a dedicated education eBook exploring the technologies, strategies and challenges shaping the connected campus.
Following next month’s lead education feature in Installation’s October/November edition, which distributes on October 23, the special eBook will take a deeper look at the increasingly important role AV plays across higher education – extending beyond individual classrooms and lecture theatres to become part of the underlying technology infrastructure of the institution.
As universities develop more flexible approaches to teaching and learning, AV teams are being asked to support an increasingly diverse range of spaces and experiences. At the same time, greater use of AV-over-IP, cloud platforms, remote management and software-based systems is bringing AV ever closer to the worlds of IT, networking and cybersecurity.
The eBook will explore what that shift means for universities, integrators and technology vendors, from the design of flexible teaching spaces and connected campuses to interoperability, network resilience, standardisation and the long-term management of increasingly complex AV estates.
It will also examine how institutions can balance the immediate requirements of students and teaching staff with the need to create infrastructure capable of adapting to new technologies, changing pedagogies and evolving expectations around the campus experience.
The publication will bring together perspectives from across the education AV ecosystem, including technology specialists, integrators and those responsible for delivering and managing AV within higher education.
