HIVE Media Control, a UK-based specialist in professional media playback, has appointed DWR Distribution as a distributor in South Africa, expanding access to its range of media players and control solutions across the region. Founded in 2006 and based across Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, DWR Distribution serves customers across live events, theatre, houses of worship, broadcast, architectural, commercial and installation markets, combining product distribution with workshop, training and demonstration facilities.
The partnership gives DWR customers access to HIVE’s product portfolio, built around its Beeblade media engines and modular enclosures. DWR will initially hold local stock of selected Beeblade models and enclosures, alongside access to the wider HIVE range. Built on the Intel SDM platform, HIVE’s Beeblade media players can slot directly into compatible displays and projectors, removing the need for a separate media server, or be housed in HIVE’s enclosures for standalone and rack-mounted deployments across projection mapping, LED displays, live events and interactive installations.
