Areal, a Belgian developer of immersive audio hardware and software, has appointed Amptec as its official distributor for the Benelux region. The announcement follows Areal’s international debut at ISE 2026, where the company showcased its Upmix Engine professional upmixer.
Areal says the Upmix Engine is designed to address a recurring live production challenge: how to drive immersive loudspeaker systems when source content remains in stereo. It is intended as a practical entry point into immersive audio for festivals, touring systems, venues, corporate environments and broadcast applications.
Amptec is an established distributor and system integrator in the Benelux region, covering live entertainment, studio, broadcast and corporate markets. The company says customers will be able to experience the Upmix Engine in its immersive demonstration lab.

Areal says further European distribution announcements will follow throughout 2026.
