Immersive audio manufacturer Areal has appointed POLAR as its official distributor for Great Britain, covering the company’s full professional audio portfolio. The partnership marks a further step in Areal’s international distribution rollout, with additional announcements expected throughout 2026.

Founded in Belgium, Areal develops hardware and software aimed at making immersive audio practical in live sound, installation and content creation environments. Its Upmix Engine converts stereo content into spatial audio in real time.
POLAR distributes audiovisual and communications equipment across three divisions serving the integrated AV, professional audio, and music and performance sectors. The company has dedicated teams of certified technical engineers in both the north and south of England.
Kristof Jeuris, commercial director at Areal, said: “When we started talking to POLAR, we were struck by the team’s value-added approach, passion for technology, and deep reach into our target markets. We knew from the first meeting, this was the right partner to proactively showcase the benefits of SR1 and the Upmix Engine to customers in Great Britain.”
John Midgley, managing director at POLAR, added: “Although Areal is a new name in the pro audio world, we’re impressed by the maturity and attention to detail in their first two products. The years of development and refinement at events like Tomorrowland shine through in the streamlined, logical Upmix Engine design. Likewise, the SR1 forms an elegant, self-contained spatial system with your laptop.”
