Midwich employees raise £27,000 for mental health charity

Distributor also confirms it will extend its two-year partnership with Norfolk and Waveney Mind

Midwich – based in Diss, Norfolk – has announced that staff have raised £27,000 for mental health charity, Norfolk and Waveney Mind, whilst confirming that it will extend its two-year partnership with the charity for a further year until December 2021.

Midwich announced its initial two-year partnership with the charity in March 2019, and employees have fundraised through a number of different initiatives including an annual quiz, Christmas raffle, and ‘10 Million Steps for Mind Challenge’ which launched on World Mental Health Day (October 10th) and ended today on World Kindness Day (November 13th). Midwich has also volunteered more than 100 hours to the Mind charity shop in Diss town centre and donated more than 315kg of worthwhile items.

“We would like to thank all the staff at Midwich for the fantastic ways in which they have fundraised for us,” said Alexandra Haswell, Fundraising Manager, Norfolk and Waveney Mind. “We are so grateful to the support of the local community to help us continue to deliver vital mental health services across the whole of Norfolk and Waveney.”

Lesa Orford, HR Manager, Midwich UK & Ireland added: “We are extremely proud to be able to raise money for Norfolk and Waveney Mind. They do an incredible job in offering a range of mental health services in our local communities, especially at this time of need. The work that our charity team puts into organising fundraising events is amazing, and we’d also like to thank all our staff for supporting these events and donating so generously. A huge thank you to everyone involved.”

Midwich is nearly halfway to reaching its aim of exceeding the £45,000 raised for its previous charity partner, Nelson’s Journey.
