Barco used its 2014 Technology Showcase, held yesterday at the QE2 Conference Centre in London, to introduce the product to the UK market following its US debut last week.

The ultra high-resolution display features a 2.7mm pixel pitch, 2,000-nit brightness and up to 200 tiles/output. Although initially aimed at the retail market it is expected to have wider appeal including in the corporate and rental sector among others. The display is managed by Barco’s Infinipix processing platform.

Barco also highlighted its extensive projector range including the compact F50 with ultra short throw lens. The F50 single-chip DLP projector combines native WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) and Panorama (2,560 x 1,080) resolution with active 3D stereo and high frame rates. Designed for 24/7 operation, it is suitable for a wide variety of demanding applications in virtual reality, simulation and training, visitor attractions, collaboration suites and scientific visualisation, offering minimal distortion and high performance.

Said to be the shortest throw in the market, the lens is due to launch in January 2015.
