Confidea Wireless, Televic Conference’s wireless conference system, has received a significant upgrade to include new functionality and new algorithms for RF signal handling. Since its launch back in 2008, Confidea Wireless has established itself as one of the leaders in wireless conferencing. It was the first multi-band product to come to market making use of the full spectrum that is available in four bands of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz range. In locations where the 2.4 GHz bands were saturated it was in many cases the only solution to operate reliably. The new Confidea now includes VOX or Voice Activation as a significant added functionality. But also a lot has changed under the hood to stay ahead of things. Since Confidea’s launch nearly five years ago, the RF landscape has become significantly more crowded with wireless networks, but even more through the explosive increase in the use of Wi-Fi enabled mobile devices such as iPads and smartphones. The algorithms for dealing with interferences have therefore been revised to ensure that Confidea delivers the best sound quality, even in RF intense environments. This is reflected in the new “Advanced Transmission Mode” that has been added to the system.“Confidea Wireless systems are in operation in nearly 60 countries,” says Kristoff Henry, product and marketing manager at Televic Conference. “This has provided us with a wealth of information on how Confidea was dealing with changing environments and what other functionality customers wanted. Based on this broad experience we’ve developed this second generation to secure Confidea’s performance leadership in the wireless conference space.” Any existing systems operating on a Confidea WCAP+ access point can be upgraded to the latest second generation Confidea through a free software update. www.televic-conference.com
