Tech round-up: Sennheiser touchless audio; distributor news; new HQ for TSG

Our tech round-up features Sennheiser kitting out Guatemalan university with touchless audio, distie deals for Martin Audio and Pan Acoustics, and a new Baton Rouge HQ for TSG

Touchless audio future-proofs Guatemala university

Sennheiser has released details of its kitting-out of The Universidad Francisco Marroquín (UFM) in Guatemala City, where the university’s IT and AV team worked with installer FAREI to deploy Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 (TCC2) microphones in 52 of its classrooms and various faculty auditoriums.

Like many education facilities, the pandemic had accelerated the university’s plans to modernise its AV and IT infrastructures, which now focuses on hybrid teaching models, social distancing, and touchless audio.

Fernando Falla, general manager of project installer FAREI, said, “When UFM’s team came to us to work together on finding the best audio solution for their needs, we knew straight away that beamforming microphone technology would be the right way to go forward as it’s one of the latest touchless audio innovations and has really proved its value as an effective and hygienic AV solution over the last year.”

He went on to say that the successful collaboration between UFM, FAREI, and Sennheiser had helped future-proof UFM for “many years to come”.

Martin Audio appoints Spectrum Audio Visual as Singapore distributor

Spectrum Audio Visual Pte Ltd has been announced as the distributor for Martin Audio products in Singapore, focusing on the installation sector.
“Being recognised by Martin Audio as their business partner, and trusting us to grow the business in the Singapore market, is something that excites the whole Spectrum team,” said Wayne Soo, general manager of Spectrum. “Our MD Mr Vincent Chua and I are really relishing this long-term business relationship.”

David Wong, sales director for Generation AV and Martin Audio, added: “We are very pleased to welcome Spectrum Audio Visual as our new partner in Singapore. Their energy and unique approach to the various key vertical markets, product knowledge and after sales support is of the very highest standard in this region. We look forward to working closely to further strengthen and grow the Martin Audio installation business in Singapore.”

ATEC Pro becomes distribution partner for Pan Acoustics in Austria

More distributor news as Pan Acoustics has announced its partnership with ATEC Pro for distribution in Austria where it takes over local sales, design and support for all Pan Acoustics products.

“I’m pleased that with ATEC we have found a solid company to take care for our customers and projects in Austria,” said Johannes Kampert, head of global sales at Pan Acoustics. “I’m sure that ATEC, with their competent team and friendly cooperation with clients is an excellent choice and will perfectly transport our key values – reliability, honesty, fairness and quality – throughout the market.”

Manfred Prochazka, general manager at ATEC Pro, added, “Pan Acoustics fills a gap in our portfolio, which allows us to approach projects even more holistic. After first tests we were instantly convinced of the active beam steered systems (Pan Beam) but also of the quality of the passive speakers. We can now offer our clients best possible one-shop-stop solutions even in projects with most demanding acoustics.”

TSG opens new Baton Rouge facility

Broadcast engineering and commercial AV solutions provider, Technical Services Group (TSG), has completed its move to its new facility in Baton Rouge which is almost six times larger than the company’s previous headquarters.

“Both our commercial AV and broadcast integration, RF, and field services teams are busier than ever. The transmission business continues to grow, too, even as we draw closer to the end of the FCC Repack,” said Bo Hoover, CEO of TSG.

“This new facility is an important move forward for TSG and our clients. Now, we have more space to stage, store, and prepare equipment in order to respond faster to what our clients demand. We’ve also incorporated advanced technologies to manage inventories and provide better facility-wide communications. Plus, our addition of a dedicated 24-hour network and technical operations centre will be extremely important to supporting our clients’ mission-critical facilities and customer operations.”
