Midwich launches screen configurator

The 'Whichscreens' tool is designed to make it easy for integrators and installers to choose the right screen for the application.

UK distributor Midwich has launched a new ‘screen finder’ function for its website. The company says that the Whichscreens tool enables resellers and installers to find the right product quickly and efficiently.

“To make the most of a projector,” notes Neil Wells, Projection Screen Specialist of True Colours, the AV specialist division of the Midwich group (pictured), “it’s essential to choose a screen that complements the projection technology as well as being sympathetic to the surroundings. To make sure the image maximises sharpness, brightness and contrast, choosing the right screen and mounting options is as an important choice as the projector itself. Measuring the physical wall space, the preferred distance from audience to screen, as well as the taking the aspect ratio of the projection into account are all important considerations to offer the best-fitting screen.”

Using this information, the Whichscreens screen finder is said to provide resellers with a simple step-by-step process to select the optimum screen for the job. At each stage, the screen finder gives the installer advice and guidance on the different screen options. On completing the three-stage form, the tool presents a list of screens appropriate for the job in hand from a list of projection screen brands including Draper, Euroscreen and Elite.

“Whichscreens is a powerful specification tool to assist with the selection of the correct aspect ratio, size and type of projection screen to suit the environment and projector used,” says Wells. “For any projection screen solution not found, we have an experienced technical sales team to advise and quote.”
