BrightSign has announced it will debut its Series 3 digital signage media player range at ISE 2017, and also launch two additional player solutions to address key segments of the digital signage market.
Launched in September, each of the seven new players have a sleek industrial design with a slim profile under 1in high enabling the players to be placed almost anywhere. All the new players integrate H.265 (HEVC playback features) and an M.2 interface for WiFi antennae or a solid-state drive (M.2 SSD). The top two product lines (XD and XT) offer a hardware accelerated H.265 video decoding engine capable of 4K HDR 10-bit video playback.
BrightAuthor software v4.6 enables a new feature on the HD, XD and XT players called Mosaic Mode, which allows lower resolution videos to be played in multiple video zones that add up to the total resolution decoding power of the players video decoder. BrightSign Network, including the new B-Deploy feature, now supports media and player tagging for highly targeted content distribution to large networks of players.
BrightSign’s portfolio of digital signage media players is now comprised of seven players spanning four product lines. At the entry level, the LS423 is a fully featured, commercial-grade player offering a far superior alternative to consumer devices. The HD223 and HD1023 add a more robust HTML5 engine and GPIO, serial and Gigabit networking. The two new XD players offer 4K support and can decode two 1080p60 videos simultaneously. The top line BrightSign XT players include the company’s fastest HTML and graphics engine and the most powerful CPU.
“We developed the new line of Series 3 players with the digital experience in mind,” said Jeff Hastings, BrightSign CEO. “Digital Signage has become so much more than just graphics or video on a screen. Consumers expect an interactive and meaningful experience, and BrightSign technology makes it possible.”
