InfoComm 2019: Marshall debuts new PTZ camera controller

Marshall Electronics has launched its VS-PTC-IP PTZ camera controller at InfoComm this week. Used for live event production and content creation in houses of worship, education, pro AV, broadcast and other PTZ applications, the VS-PTC-IP controller is designed to operate seamlessly across multiple camera protocols on a single network.

The controller offers detailed operation – through a PTZ joystick, professional zoom rocker and individual fine-tune adjustment knobs for iris, white balance, exposure, red/blue, shutter speed, focus, pan/tilt speed and zoom speed. An on-board Tally indicator includes contact, tally and on-air tally modes for an easy workflow, while a multi-colour button illumination indicator directs operation to specific functions.

“We are excited to introduce the VS-PTC-IP at InfoComm 2019,” says Tod Musgrave, director of cameras at Marshall. “The controller’s easy IP camera discovery function automatically searches for all available IP cameras on a network, and easily assigns IP addresses to each. It can also store up to six selectable ASSIGN function keys, 256 camera presets with memory of image parameters and eight transition patterns/cruises to recall camera moves. Dedicated knobs and control buttons simplify direct access to frequently used functions without needing to use on-camera menus.”

The VS-PTC-IP offers cross-protocol mix-control on one easy-to-use controller and operates in RS232/RS422/RS485 and IP, as well as ONVIF and VISCA-over-IP. The controller can set up seven cameras via RS232, 14 cameras via RS422 and 255 cameras via IP – all selectable through a single unit.

The Marshall VS-PTC-IP is fully compatible with most PTZ cameras on the market, including all Marshall PTZ and Sony BRC/SRG series cameras.
