Signage specialist brings August sausage-themed wedding to life

FASTSIGNS Manchester used correx, foam PVC and feather flags to produce the range of wayfinders and marquee entrance signage, the ‘peper-bar-mi’ and toilet signage for over 50 guests

FASTSIGNS Manchester has embarked on its most quirky project to date, producing signage for a sausage-themed wedding on behalf of clients, creative consultants, Forever Beta, and wedding planners, The Country Blush, who were both working with Peperami.

Fans of the well-known pork snacking brand were invited to submit applications for the opportunity to win a £25,000 Peperami-themed wedding, coined ‘Go a Bit Peperami’.

Newlyweds, Francesca Brooke-Fenton, 37, and Luke Hindmarsh, 33, from Otley, West Yorkshire, UK, were the winners of the competition. The unique nuptials featured a sausage bouquet, sausage save-the-date cards and a cake in the shape of the anthropomorphised sausage stick known by fans as the ‘Animal’.

Forever Betawas commissioned by The Country Blush to create signage including wayfinders, feather flags and bar signs to mark the occasion, which took place in Preston, Lancashire, this August. FASTSIGNS Manchester were drafted in to complete the concept, using correx, foam PVC and feather flags to produce the range of wayfinders and marquee entrance signage, the ‘peper-bar-mi’ and toilet signage for over 50 guests.

From start to finish, the project took three weeks and saw over 50 Pererami logos used across the various signage created.

Speaking about the project, Richard Wedgwood, director of FASTSIGNS Manchester, said: “This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime project. Not only were we working to uphold the exacting brand standards of one of the biggest snack manufacturers in Europe, we helped to contribute to what can only be described as a ‘meat-lovers paradise’ for Francesca and Luke’s special day.

“Weddings are all about creating a lasting memory for the couple involved and, equally, making an impact for guests, family and friends. And, with the talents of our team, and the off-the-wall brief we received, we were able to produce something that ticked all of those boxes. At its heart, the signage sector is filled with creative individuals just looking for a brilliant, yet bizarre challenge to tackle, and we were humbled to have played our part on this one.

“This particular project also showcases how versatile signage can be. Across the FASTSIGNS network, we work with a number of business-to-business sectors, from construction, manufacturing, right through to healthcare and warehousing, and pride ourselves in being signage specialists in each of those industries. In this case, we were able to bring the vision of an exciting and innovative consumer-facing brand like Peperami to life, to the delight of the newlyweds and their guests.”

Following the event, Evie West, an organiser from The Country Blush, added: “Thank you so much for the signs that you and your team created for the Peperami Wedding – they looked amazing. They really elevated the image of the wedding.”
