Barco launches new projectors in extensive corporate AV portfolio

Barco is launching three new projector ranges as part of a major initiative to increase its presence in the corporate market: Present, Collaborate and Impress.

Barco is launching three new projector ranges as part of a major initiative to increase its presence in the corporate market.

The Present range of one-chip DLP projectors consists of nine models ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 lumens. The three models in the Collaborate series are designed for multi-window displays, and so have resolutions from WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) to WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) to provide a larger pixel space. Finally, the Impress projector is a 3-chip DLP model offers high-quality, large-scale images with 8,300 lumens brightness and WUXGA resolution.

The first two models in the Present range are the PFWX-51B (WXGA, 4,750 lumens) and the PFWU-51B (WUXGA, 4,650 lumens).

Speaking to Installation at a presentation ahead of Comm-Tec’s S14 Solutions Day, Bram Dieryckx (pictured), director of product management at Barco’s projection division, said: “In the past, projectors were seen as complex pieces of equipment but our new ranges focus on ease of use, providing features such as simpler menus. We’ve also paid attention to the projectors’ design, making them more suitable for corporate environments.”

He added: “We feel it is important for Barco to target growth in the corporate segment.” He added that although Barco has traditionally been known for its products in the high-end segment, ClickShare has proved an effective entry for the company into the mid-market: “With ClickShare we feel we have built the necessary channel partners to continue to provide collaboration solutions for the corporate environment.”

Dieryckx added that the company has plans to integrate HDBaseT technology into its projectors in the future – “perhaps at the beginning of next year. ‘ClickShare Inside’ is also in the pipeline.”

Barco is releasing more details of its corporate AV portfolio over a ten working-day period from Wednesday 18 to Friday 27 September.
