AV veteran Roger Takacs returns to Atlona

Takacs will take on a diverse role focused on education end user programs, partner engagement, and management of key accounts across all US sales regions

AV industry veteran Roger Takacs has returned to AV over IP specialist Atlona (a Panduit company) after seven years away from the company in a newly developed position.

Reporting to Jamey Swigert, Takacs will focus on sales, management and customer engagement initiatives in his new role as strategic account manager.

Takacs rejoins Atlona from Crestron Electronic, where he spent the past five years in a number of senior roles. His previous employment with Atlona saw him play a crucial role in the launch of Atlona’s commercial AV business. This initiative included the company’s HDVS family, a broad product range introduced to smooth the transition from analogue to digital in schools and businesses. The HDVS is still in operation today, moving into new areas such as PTZ cameras and soft codec conferencing. While in this position, Roger also built a dedicated team of regional sales managers to serve customers in every US region, and worked closely with major distributors and manufacturer representatives throughout North America.

“Panduit’s acquisition of Atlona has introduced the company to an entirely new base of customers, including consultants and end users that are less familiar with the AV side of the business,” said Takacs. “At the same time, AV integrators are increasingly finding jobs that take them deeper into the network infrastructure. It is exciting to work with a broader customer base and communicate how one company can help them expand their businesses and leverage our combined technical resources.

“I also look forward to working with Atlona’s education customers, a vertical that I have intimate knowledge with through earlier positions at Atlona and Creston,” he added. “K-12 and higher education end users are very self-reliant today, and my experience will help to guide these customers through configuration, programming and technology refresh initiatives that keep learning environments modern and engaging.”

“Roger comes to Atlona with a rare and perhaps unique range of expertise that will bring value and knowledge to our key partners and end users throughout the United States,” said Swigert. “His background in Director-level positions around education vertical programs and consultant engagement, as well as experience in the trenches with systems integrators, positions him for success in this critical new role. We are excited to welcome back Roger to the Atlona team.”
