Sennheiser will supply its largest Spectera deployment to date at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna next month, including manufacturing samples of a handheld transmitter yet to be officially launched.
The company is working alongside Italian rental firm Agorà to support host broadcaster ORF. The partnership marks the fourth consecutive Eurovision collaboration between the two companies, having previously worked together on the event in Lisbon, Tel Aviv and Turin.
The deployment will include Spectera base stations, bidirectional bodypacks and handheld microphones. A firmware variant developed specifically for the event will add on-site functionalities, the company says. Artists using a headset microphone will be able to perform with a single belt pack.
Volker Schmitt, manager of technical application engineering at Sennheiser, said: “We’re excited to bring the largest deployment worldwide of Spectera base stations, bidirectional bodypacks and handheld mics to the ESC. Artists and crews will benefit from the extraordinary clarity of IEMs over Spectera, and artists using a headset mic will be able to perform with just one belt pack. Like the Agorà team, our wireless experts are very much looking forward to the amazing international teamwork at the ESC.”
