Lawo to unveil new IP audio tools at German trade fair

Company will present upgrades to its mc² mixing consoles, QLab integration for theatre, and new IP-based workflow controls, at Düsseldorf’s biennial Tonmeistertagung conference for pro audio engineers

Lawo will highlight new IP-based audio production tools for broadcast, theatre and live performance at Tonmeistertagung 2025, taking place from November 12-15, at the Congress Centre Düsseldorf.

On stand 43, the German manufacturer will demonstrate software version 12.2.0 for its mc² mixing consoles, introducing a number of workflow-focused improvements aimed at demanding production environments. These include an upgraded EQ module with seven bands per channel, four fully parametric static bands and three new dynamic bands for enhanced tonal control.

Also new are channel strip displays offering up to three mini-displays per strip, alongside improved decentralised touch and hardware control. These enhancements are designed to support more flexible operation in dual-operator and distributed system setups. The update also adds fader user buttons that can switch directly between layers and banks.

For theatre and live users, Lawo will show newly added native integration with QLab show control software. With QLab 5.5 now supporting Lawo’s OSC Showcontrol Interface, operators can trigger snapshots and scenes without needing to input OSC commands manually. This builds on previous support for generic OSC and ADM-OSC introduced in earlier software versions, allowing automation of complex cue-based workflows in environments such as opera houses and theatres.

The new integration will be demonstrated at the show using Lawo’s Vivace 3D processing engine.

Other live demonstrations on the booth will feature the mc²56 production console, as well as multiviewer integration, preview camera workflows, and embedding/de-embedding through Lawo’s HOME Apps Platform and .edge infrastructure.

For the first time, Lawo will also present Sequoia control integration, available directly from the mc²56 surface or via the mc² crystal Controller, extending its control capabilities for post-production and audio editing environments.

Visitors will be able to test the console systems hands-on and evaluate how Lawo’s tools are being used to streamline modern IP-based production workflows.
