Renkus-Heinz adds compact subwoofer to steerable array series

ICLX-48S houses four 8in woofers in slim column form factor and is designed to fly or wall-mount alongside existing IC Live X modules as a single cohesive column

Renkus-Heinz has added a new subwoofer to its IC Live X Series, designed to deliver high-output low-frequency performance in installations where space or aesthetics are a constraint.

The ICLX-48S is built around four 8in woofers arranged in a vertical column configuration, powered by a 2,000-watt proprietary amplifier. The company says purpose-engineered ports are designed to reduce turbulence and optimise interior volume, enabling sub-bass output in a compact enclosure.

The unit can be flown or wall-mounted alongside IC Live X array modules in a single column, allowing integrators to keep the system visually cohesive. It is compatible with the full IC Live X range, which comprises three steerable array modules – the ICLX, ICLXL and ICLLLX – and an existing subwoofer, the ICLX-118S.

The ICLX-48S is described as suited to venues and installations where conventional subwoofer placement is not practical, including houses of worship, corporate environments and performing arts spaces.

Brandon Heinz, product manager at Renkus-Heinz, said: “This new sub makes IC Live X the most discreet, full-range sound system from Renkus-Heinz. It’s all about giving integrators and designers even more flexibility to build the exact system they need.”
