Lithe Audio has launched the 8in Bluetooth Auracast Ceiling Speaker (BT8), its most advanced ceiling speaker to date, built on the Bluetooth 5.4 LE Audio standard and incorporating Auracast broadcast technology. Auracast enables one-to-many broadcasting, streaming audio from a single source to an unlimited number of in-range compatible receivers simultaneously, without relying on traditional network infrastructure.
The speaker’s integrated Class D amplifier removes the need for external equipment, with Lithe Audio positioning it for residential, commercial and assisted living installations.
Key features include Bluetooth 5.4 with LE Audio and Auracast for broadcast audio, wireless speaker grouping via master transmitter/receiver mode for synchronised audio zones, and the Lithe Audio Setup App for speaker naming, EQ adjustment, volume limits and system configuration. The speaker also offers flexible inputs, including Bluetooth streaming and a 3.5mm line-in for TVs, media players and other AV sources, alongside an IP44 rating suited to bathrooms, kitchens and commercial environments, and a magnetic, paintable grille for a discreet architectural finish.
The company is positioning the BT8 across a range of settings, from open-plan residential spaces and multi-speaker zones to public venues such as transport hubs, gyms and conference centres, where Auracast can serve both fixed speakers and personal listening devices simultaneously. In assisted living and healthcare environments, the speaker’s ability to broadcast directly to compatible hearing aids offers what the company describes as a modern alternative to legacy assistive listening infrastructure.
