Jabra has introduced Jabra Reach, a single-cable BYOD extension solution designed to help businesses deploy and scale video meeting room installations more consistently across rooms of varying sizes. The system replaces multi-cable setups with a single connection for video, audio, USB and optional power, allowing users to connect a laptop via USB-C to access a room’s display, camera, microphones and speakers.
Built on HDBaseT technology, Jabra Reach extends this connection up to 100m, supporting installations across rooms of different sizes.
Holger Reisinger, senior vice president of Jabra’s video business unit, said: “Walking into a room and connecting your own laptop should be the simplest thing in the world, but too often it isn’t. You have the wrong cable, the wrong connector, a dropped signal or a table full of adapters. Jabra Reach solves that at the infrastructure level. Users get one cable to connect, and it works with any video bar or room system and doesn’t change how the existing setup functions.”
Flexible mounting options are designed to allow discreet installation at the table or behind the display, with concealed ports and secured cables intended for a tamperproof setup, alongside optional USB-C power delivery of up to 100W. Jabra Reach can be managed through Jabra Plus Management, providing centralised visibility for IT teams, and is designed to work across all Jabra video room solutions. It will be available from October 5.
Alongside Jabra Reach, Jabra is introducing firmware updates across its PanaCast portfolio, adding four enhancements: People Count, giving organisations insight into room utilisation; Custom Wallpaper, allowing businesses to personalise meeting room displays with branding; Web UI over USB, providing browser-based configuration; and CLI functionality, aimed at helping IT teams and AV integrators manage devices at scale.
The firmware updates will become available across the Jabra PanaCast portfolio through the end of the year.
