Extron has introduced the BT 100 AT D, a Bluetooth Dante audio interface designed to bring Bluetooth-enabled devices into Dante audio systems.
The wall panel allows a Bluetooth-enabled phone to act as the communication device in a conferencing system, and also supports stereo audio playback from Bluetooth-enabled devices. Device pairing, volume and media playback can be controlled from the front panel buttons, via RS-232, or over the Dante network connection.
The BT 100 AT D connects to any Dante-equipped audio processor, such as an Extron DMP Plus Series AT model, over a standard local area network. It can be powered via PoE, allowing a single network cable to provide bidirectional audio, control and power from a central equipment rack.

The Bluetooth connection allows an existing cell phone call to be transferred into the conference room, or a conference to be initiated from a phone’s contact list. It can also be used to play back audio from a phone or tablet through the room’s speaker system.
