Crestron launches Control for Zoom Rooms Software

Company says the software, designed to simplify video conferencing, allows organisers to control everything using a single user interface, also upgrading its VC-4 Virtual Control Server and Crestron Construct

Crestron has introduced new Crestron Control for Zoom Rooms Software, as well as updating its Crestron VC-4 Virtual Control Server and Crestron Construct. The technologies can be unified in one system and are compatible with other vendors’ products.

The company says that before Crestron Control for Zoom Rooms Software, organisers running Zoom Rooms video conferencing and the rest of a space’s devices often required two different control interfaces. One was required for the collaboration software and the other one for everything else – lighting, shades, climate and the AV solutions needed for a hybrid meeting. But Crestron says everything can now be controlled by a single user interface.

Meanwhile, the Crestron VC-4 Virtual Control software is used by IT teams to design and configure a room’s UC, AV, and control solutions. Crestron says it has introduced a solution for medium to large-scale, time-sensitive projects. The new Virtual Control Server 25 (VC-4-SERVER-25) supports 25 rooms out of the box, but can scale up to 500 rooms.

Crestron says it is designed to manage control across floors, buildings, and campuses, such as higher education, government, and enterprise environments.

Finally, Crestron Construct Software was introduced last year. Crestron has added a support for authorisation token which allows projects to be securely launched without requiring an additional login. Multi-resolution support has also been developed making it easier to manage multiple devices.

“Crestron Control provides a flexible platform that continues to simplify automation for any corporation, campus, home, and beyond. These latest control announcements tackle several key solutions,” said Lauren Simmen, director of product marketing, Crestron.
