Preston New joins Clear-Com as business development director

Role will strengthen business for the US military, aerospace, and government markets

As Clear-Com continues to grow its business in the federal aviation and space agency and national defence markets, the company is pleased to announce the appointment of Preston New to a new role as business development director for military, aerospace, and government. New will oversee the strategic growth of Clear-Com’s account sales and new partnerships within these important sectors, encompassing endeavours like space and aerospace missions, unmanned systems, test and evaluation, training and simulation, and research and development, for all of which communication is mission-critical.

New is a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force (USAF) in the communications and maintenance specialties, serving in the US, Europe, and the Pacific. His post-military career involves systems engineering and sales, including a role as USAF lead with the Joint Tactical Radio Systems (JTRS) office and managing the Systems Engineer Department of Cornet Technologies. he joins Clear-Com after an eight-year tenure at L3Harris, where he was Air Force major account manager for the Public Safety and Professional Communications (PSPC) Division and later, major account manager of Federal Agencies and the USAF in the Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Division.

“I was looking for a different challenge after my years as major account manager,” said New “Clear-Com was a good fit with my experience in matrix and intercom, and I am eager to expand its reach and meet the needs of our current and prospective partners in the MAG community.”

New’s unique combination of military experience and technical sales will offer invaluable benefits to Clear-Com, explained Chris Willis, senior VP of worldwide sales. “As a USAF-retired veteran, Preston’s intrinsic understanding of military comms is already deep. His added systems engineering and sales experience within government-level communications made him the best choice for this important growth role.”

New lives in Kingsport, Tennessee with his family and enjoys playing golf in his spare time.
