Neat appoints CEO with AI and edge computing pedigree

Javed Khan's background spans intelligent systems and enterprise collaboration platforms, including senior role overseeing Cisco's Webex portfolio

Video device manufacturer Neat has appointed Javed Khan as CEO, succeeding Janine Pelosi, with the company citing a deepening focus on AI and edge computing as the driver behind the hire.

Khan joins from Aptiv, a vehicle technology and electrical systems company, where he served as executive vice president of intelligent systems, overseeing edge computing solutions across automotive, transportation, robotics, aerospace and defence.

Prior to that, he was senior vice president and general manager of Cisco Collaboration, where he led the modernisation of the Webex portfolio – spanning video conferencing, video devices and contact centre – during and after the pandemic.

OJ Winge, speaking on behalf of the Neat board, said: “Javed brings a rare combination of deep technical expertise and proven enterprise leadership. His experience scaling complex, AI-enabled systems and leading global collaboration platforms positions Neat to build upon its technology leadership and accelerate our long-term growth.”

Khan added: “Recent advancements in edge computing and large language models are allowing us to embed AI into edge devices running in the conference room. This architectural shift will allow us to unlock entirely new collaboration experiences. Neat is a product-centric company that is relentlessly focused on simplicity and intelligence.”

Khan holds a master’s degree in computer science from Loyola University and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
