This two-part series will examine the scale of the audiovisual market for products and services, as well as highlight the larger trends driving industry growth. Hear Sean Wargo, AVIXA’s Senior Director of Market Intelligence, share insights from AVIXA’s annual market sizing study, the Industry Outlook and Trends Analysis (IOTA), to tell the story of growth and opportunity in Pro AV. Split into two sessions, Part 1 will focus on ‘The Industry Behind the Show’, taking place Tuesday, 11 February, 12:00 – 12:30, and Part 2 covers ‘A Look Ahead – Pro AV in 2020 and Beyond’ Friday, 14 February, 10:00 – 10:30.
Engaging Discussion Panels
AVIXA’s Diversity Council will be returning Tuesday, 11 February, 16:00 – 18:00, where AVIXA members from various backgrounds and cultures will come together in an insightful discussion to facilitate a larger dialogue around initiatives of inclusion within the industry. This year’s keynote is June Sarpong, MBE, Director of Creative Diversity at the BBC. The aim of this event is to make connections and work together to create a diverse workforce that represents the society we live in.
In ‘The Experience Revolution – Expert Panel discussion on How Content and Experience Change Everything in a Brand Activated World!’ Jeff Day, a talent aggregator, cultural entrepreneur, and business advisor, will lead an energising panel discussion focused on how the experience era is challenging all previous norms for brand activation and content impact. The session takes place Wednesday, 12 February, 10:30 – 11:30.
AVIXA’s Women’s Council will take place Wednesday, 12 February, 15:30 – 17:30, with an opening address from Sarah Joyce, AVIXA Chief Global Officer, and a keynote from the Hon. Mrs Angels Chacón, Minister for Business & Knowledge in the Catalan Government, followed by a series of panels. The event will provide plenty of discussion points for inspiring, supporting and empowering women who work in the technology and AV industries.
Standards in Action
On Thursday 13 February, 10:00 – 10:30, Ann Brigida, CTS, CStd, Senior Director of Standards for AVIXA will be leading the discussion in using standards in your projects to bring many benefits. Hear real-world examples from people who have used them to successfully increase efficiency, enhance the user experience, improve relationships with their clients, and gain business. AVIXA continues to develop AV standards that raise the bar for the entire industry.
Workforce Development
Rounding out its Main Stage involvement, AVIXA will take part in ‘Workforce Development & Training’ on Friday 14 February, 14:30 – 15:30. Joseph Valerio, Program Director, AVIXA Foundation, has invited two inspirational members to join a host of panellists – including representatives from AV Magazine, CEDIA and ISE – to tackle the hot topic of how to encourage talent into the AV industry and develop a high-quality workforce.
