AVIXA Foundation opens entries for ‘Brad Sousa Impact Fund’

Established in memory of late Forté CTO and AVIXA board member Brad Sousa, the grants supports individuals and programmes advancing careers and digital transformation in pro AV, with recipients to be honoured at InfoComm 2026

The AVIXA Foundation is accepting applications for the Brad Sousa Impact Fund – a grant programme established in memory of the late Brad Sousa, chief technology officer of Forté (formerly AVI Systems) and AVIXA board member – with the application window open until May 25 and recipients to be announced at InfoComm 2026 in Las Vegas on June 18.

The fund awards grants to individuals pursuing educational and vocational outcomes, programmes that impact society and culture, and partnerships that support the missions of associations, community organisations and nonprofits. Its primary focus is on developing audiovisual and digital transformation professionals and strengthening their understanding of each other’s interconnected needs.

In 2025, three grantees were selected and honoured at InfoComm 2025 in Orlando – Rosie Riveters, Tech25 and WorkSource Montgomery, whose work spans hands-on STEM learning for young women, training for AV broadcast and event technicians, and career pathways into AV and IT.

Sarah Joyce, executive director of the AVIXA Foundation and chief global officer of AVIXA, said: “Our 2025 grantees are unique changemakers in their own right. Each organisation transforms lives and creates career pathways for more people to join our vibrant industry. We are excited to add to this impressive list, supporting similar impact around the globe again this year.”
