Installation has teamed up with professional audio systems specialist d&b audiotechnik to create a new ebook on how the company’s Soundscape system is helping to create new immersive experiences to the performing arts sector.
The ebook – d&b Soundscape: a new era of immersive audio for the performing arts – features an exclusive interview with Simon Kenning, global segment manager at d&b, who explains how the company is balancing its work with smaller-scale performance spaces while helping venues of all shapes and sizes “get ready for the new immersive era” with Soundscape.
We also feature a case study of the world’s first KSL Soundscape installation at Kaohsiung Music Center in Taiwan, which project supplier TopSound described as “revolutionary” for the venue; a “one-of-a-kind system in a one-of-a-kind venue”, providing a new level of immersive experience for audiences.
Our feature with sound designer Dom Bilkley takes us on a tour of London’s West End, as he guides us through his work with Soundscape on some of the leading theatre productions of recent times, in conversation with d&b’s Ralf Zuleeg.
d&b Soundscape: a new era of immersive audio for the performing arts is available to download for free now.
The d&b Soundscape is powered by the d&b DS100 Signal Matrix and two optional software modules, En-Scene – to achieve more natural imaging through source positioning – and En-Space, to apply emulated acoustics and create worlds of pure imagination. Soundscape systems are entirely scalable, work indoors and out, and slot seamlessly into the d&b workflow.
