“The buzz was great”: UCX attendees on 2022’s event

UC Expo took place 5-6 October at London's eXCeL, and boasted 9763 visitors

Installation made its first return to London’s ExCeL since pre-pandemic times earlier this month, attending UC Expo 2022 on 5-6 October, and there was an overwhelmingly positive reaction from attendees and exhibitors alike, with a reported 9763 visitors confirmed and 57% of floorspace already booked for 2023.

“UC Expo this year has been fantastic,” enthused Sof Socratous, VP of Northern Europe at Poly on the show floor. We’ve spoken with a lot of customers throughout both days and learned that enterprises are interested in knowing how they can accommodate employees with the right technology as they return to office, and how it can enable a successful hybrid strategy.”

This enthusiasm was backed up by Gavin Sear, Poly’s director of product, who said it had been “another great year for Poly” at UC Expo. “We’ve seen a lot of buzz around Poly’s stand with many customers interested in the launch of our Edge E Series, as well as our audio and video solutions,” he went on. “Over the two days, it was interesting to hear the sense of urgency from customers in equipping their offices with the right technologies because of people returning to work. It’s important now more than ever that enterprises take the time to understand how individuals like to work and where they like to work, and make sound investments based on that. It’s only by taking the right, considered approach to hybrid work that businesses will maintain a productive workforce.”

“Our first year at UC Expo on our own booth was a great success and proved the perfect opportunity to bring together vendors, channel partners and end users under one roof,” said Amy Newton, EMEA marketing manager, DTEN. “Our products received great feedback and we got to speak to a lot of new prospects as well put names to faces within the UC space.”

Ed Orchard, central/local & regional government lead, video collaboration at Logitech: “This year’s show reminded us that nothing can replace being able to get hands-on with the physical technology and speaking to advisors face to face. It’s the best way of sharing the challenges they may be facing and hearing some of the different solutions that are available. Shows like this also provide the advantage of seeing all the different types of technology in one place, so it’s easy to compare solutions whilst they are fresh in your head.

“The best UC solutions are also underpinned by best of breed partnerships, so it helps to be able to see in person the different partnered brands and experience how these solutions look and feel when paired with different partner products. UCX Europe 2022 was a brilliant opportunity to see the powerful potential of these partnerships in action.”

According to Justin Peyton, director of sales EMEA and APAC, at SurgeX, UCX was a “great platform” to connect with the UC market, and a “very successful” show for SurgeX.

And Mark Mason, VP sales EMEA, at Avocor opined that “the buzz was great” at UCX this year.  “We enjoyed it and felt the conversations we had were of a high quality,” he added. “Avocor sponsored the Collaboration Café, in the centre of the show floor, where we also showcased innovation.”

The last word goes to Ed Morgan, COO of DisplayNote, who told us it was “great” to be back at UCX.

UCX ’23 is scheduled to take place back at ExCeL on 4-5 October 2023.
