Q-SYS control, Neat Bar conferencing, Martin Audio and Sonance loudspeakers, AUDAC subwoofers and Airtame wireless presentation have been integrated across Maslow’s Kensington, a private members’ house in London combining coworking, wellness and hospitality spaces, in a project delivered by systems integrator Tateside.
The building’s open-plan living room, used as a bar, dining area and presentation space, features a drop-down Epson laser projector, in-ceiling projection screen, video switching, Airtame wireless presentation and Apple TV, all managed through a 5in Q-SYS control panel.
Four Martin Audio loudspeakers mounted on drop rods provide main coverage, supported by Sonance pendant speakers positioned between architectural rafts, with four 1 Sound floor subwoofers concealed within joinery to address low-frequency reinforcement in a room with limited space for traditional subwoofer placement. The upstairs Orangery mirrors the living room’s presentation setup using a TV rather than a projector.
Across the building’s nine meeting rooms, users are met with a custom-branded Airtame splash screen and a USB-C cable at the table, allowing them to connect their own device and automatically switch the room into video conferencing mode, with camera, microphone and loudspeakers routed to their laptop. The rooms combine Neat Bar 2 and Neat Bar Pro systems with Ashton Bentley extenders, Airtame wireless presentation and automatic switching, supported by iPad booking panels.
In the building’s wellness areas, the gym uses Sonance pendant speakers supported by an AUDAC compact architectural subwoofer, while the yoga studio uses Sonance in-ceiling speakers for a more restrained, instructor-led listening experience. Both spaces feature AUDAC NWP300 Dante Bluetooth plates for instructors to connect their own devices, with Pragma SOMEO wall-mounted volume controls integrated into the Q-SYS system. Upstairs, the pied-à-terre and adjoining coworking area use Sonance pendant and in-ceiling speakers for a consistent background audio approach.
Jack Cornish, technical director at Tateside, said: “We designed a fully networked background audio system throughout the social and wellness areas, along with BYOD setups in presentation spaces and meeting rooms. The goal was to deliver high-quality sound which remains discreet and easy to manage, supporting the different ways each space is used without compromising the building’s design-led feel.”
Cornish added: “As a coworking space, BYOD capability is incredibly important. Rather than forcing users into a specific room system, the AV setup supports whatever they bring, giving members and visitors the freedom to run meetings through their own preferred platforms.”
