Introduced at the 2012 NAMM Show, the Shure ULX-D Digital Wireless System provides 24-bit/48kHz digital audio combined with spectrum-efficient RF performance. The ULX-D system also employs the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-256), allowing for seamless integration in current media control systems, and utilizes the latest rechargeability technology, originating from Axient, Shure’s premium Wireless Management Network. “The use of digital transmission technology offers a whole series of new features,” said Michael Suchanka, senior product planning manager at Shure Europe. “Secure and reliable, it features an amazing audio performance with a dynamic range of 120 dB at an extremely low latency of less than 3 ms. At the same time, an extended 20 Hz – 20 kHz frequency range captures every detail with clarity, presence and impressive accurate low end and transient response.” ULX-D allows up to 17 active transmitters on an 8 MHz TV channel and over 60 compatible channels in one frequency band with permanent signal stability over the entire 100 meter line-of-sight range. The Shure SB900 is a rechargeable Li-Ion battery that guarantees full capacity within three hours of charge time and up to 12 hours of continuous use. Additionally, the half-rack, networkable receiver uses intelligent scanning which automatically finds and deploys the cleanest frequencies to transmitters over infrared synchronization. Its Ethernet networking enables the integration of Shure’s Wireless Workbench 6 software (WWB6) as well as the frequency coordination with the Axient Spectrum Manager.
