Audio-Technica’s new digital wireless system debuted at ISE

The company showcased its new 2.4 GHz digital wireless solution System 20 PRO, in Barcelona, as well as other installation-oriented solutions

Audio-Technica presented a number of its installation-oriented solutions at ISE 2025, including new 2.4 GHz digital wireless solution System 20 PRO, at the Fira Barcelona from 4 to 7 February.

It was in 2017 that Audio-Technica originally introduced the System 10 PRO rack-mount receiver, which was designed to bring 2.4 GHz wireless microphone systems to a new level of functionality and convenience. Now, with the System 20 PRO, the company has taken this even further by providing a self-managing, plug-and-play 2.4 GHz system that’s scalable to 20 channels.

Like the earlier system, the System 20 PRO – which was showcased throughout ISE  – delivers dependable, high-quality audio regardless of where it is utilised. Designed for easy and hassle-free deployment, the system overcomes many challenges associated with traditional wireless microphones, including frequency coordination, complex intermodulation calculations, and remote antenna cabling.

Operating in the 2.4 GHz range – thereby meaning it is completely free from TV interference – the System 20 PRO allows users to switch between Standard mode (10 channels) and HD mode (20 channels) to minimise latency or maximise channel count, respectively. Other key features include:

  • Receiver units can be docked in the chassis or mounted remotely (up to 328 feet) away via Ethernet cable for added versatility
  • Up to five chassis can be linked and used simultaneously
  • Each receiver channel may be paired with up to four transmitters, allowing users to instantly switch between different transmitter configurations
  • Chassis’ System ID Display, which shows RF signal level, system ID, transmitter battery level, and system link status
  • Compatibility with Audio-Technica’s Wireless Manager software, enabling centralised management of system settings and operations
  • Auto-lock function to prevent unintended operations like turning off the power or displaying the channel select screen
  • AES128 encryption for security
  • Compatibility with Syslog protocol

In addition to the System 20 PRO, Audio-Technica exhibited a host of other products aimed at addressing various installation requirements. These solutions include the Engineered Sound Wireless, a DECT wireless solution that offers simple, expandable high-quality audio.

As with the System 20 PRO, Engineered Sound Wireless has been devised to avoid many of the issues that occur with conventional wireless microphones, including frequency coordination and the limited number of simultaneous microphones. Ease of installation and deployment is assured by the use of PoE to power the receivers and the inclusion of Dante audio output capabilities, while system integrators can configure detailed settings to meet a variety of end-user needs.

ISE visitors also had an opportunity to find out more about the ATND1061 Beamforming Ceiling Array Microphone, which provides an ideal solution for conference rooms, boardrooms and other meeting spaces. The product comprises a microphone that may be used individually or, for larger meeting environments, in multiple deployments in order to capture every person speaking in a room with clear, natural audio that reduces distracting environmental sounds.

The ATND1061 has recently been supplemented with a firmware update that brings added enhancements of Voice Lift Technology and VISCA over IP (Voice System Control Architecture over Internet Protocol), which is a protocol that allows users to control video equipment over a network. Using VISCA over IP, it’s possible to position the camera to match the audio captured by the ATND1061 – thereby yielding a more natural sound experience for hybrid calls.

Finally, Audio-Technica showcased the ATUC-50 digital discussion system. Featuring easy-to-use, plug-and-play functionality, and the choice of a wired or wireless system (or combination of the two), the ATUC-50 system offers reliable, clear and intelligible communication to significantly improve meeting effectiveness. Features include 24-bit/48kHz uncompressed digital audio for high-quality voice reproduction, along with a 12-band feedback suppressor that enables higher volume levels.
