Loewe extends Xelos TV range

In a separate development, the company says that it has become the first TV manufacturer to offer Napster in the UK, having integrated the digital music service into its Loewe MediaNet web portal.

Described as a ‘new gateway to premium TV’, the new Loewe Xelos marks the introduction of LED backlight technology to this particular range. The LED lighting of the LCD panel enables a slim profile and high dynamic contrast with ‘brilliant’ colour reproduction, while the calculation of interpolated images with movement recognition is said to help the 100Hz moving image display to guarantee ‘razor-sharp contours and an even faster picture reaction time’ – and all in full HD.

Environmental sensitivity was also a priority consideration during the developmental phase. The automatic brightness control takes both the ambient lighting and video signal contrast requirements into account, while the eco-mode, standby power consumption of 0.37W and energy-efficient LED technology also strengthen the product’s environmental credentials.

The specification also includes: DVB-T and DVB-C tuners (a DVB-S2 tuner can also be specified); two integrated 20W speakers; playback of digital media such as photos, music and videos via Loewe Media+ and USB storage devices; a MediaHome USB function that allows simple, straightforward USB recording on an external hard drive; and a ‘classically modern design’ that is complemented by a variety of set-up options, including a back-coated glass table stand, VESA wall mount and rack solutions.

Available to order now in screen sizes 32 and 40, Xelos LED can be purchased in black or chrome silver.

Meanwhile, Loewe has also announced the integration of digital music service Napster into its web portal, Loewe MediaNet in a development that reportedly makes Loewe the first TV manufacturer to offer Napster through its screens in the UK.

As a result, internet-enabled TVs in the Individual LED, Connect LED and Art LED product families will now have access to the Napster service, directly via the remote control.

To mark the introduction of this new functionality, owners of compatible TVs who register with Napster can try Napster Unlimited for 14 days, free of charge.
